SEDONA YOGA FESTIVAL
SYF2022 is a destination experience set in the transformative red rocks of Sedona, AZ led by teachers and luminaries from all over the world. As Communications Director, I am responsible for all marketing and communications efforts, including including social media, email campaign strategy and newsletters, PR, graphic design, video production, digital advertising, and media outreach. I've also singlehandedly created all outbound content, including the SYF blogs, and made-for-social video. In 2021–2022 I’ve overseen consistent growth of 3% WoW email lead generation, WoW social engagement and reach, and media placement.
ACHARYA SHUNYA
Acharya Shunya is a renowned Vedic teacher, best-selling author, and the first female lineage-holder in her tradition. Her newest book, Roar Like A Goddess, will be published in fall 2022 by Sounds True. As her PR and Communications Lead, I was responsible for all inbound and outbound PR and publicity, as well as website, social strategy, and content development surrounding book release. Oversaw 1K growth in social followers in less than 2 months, and consistent 5% growth in WoW social engagement and reach. Obtained high-level endorsements, PR placements, and workshops, including Spirituality & Health, Sivananda Ashram Bahamas, Kripalu, and several guest spots on well-known podcasts.
TRANSFORMATION YOGA PROJECT
Transformation Yoga Project is a 501 3(c) nonprofit that brings yoga and mindfulness programming to populations affected by incarceration and the recovery community. As a contract communications consultant, I am responsible for developing communications strategy and special projects, as well as social media and newsletter content and management.
YOGA UNIFY
Yoga Unify is a new non-profit aiming to preserve the tradition and steward the forward evolution of the yoga industry. As Communications Lead and a founding member of the Leadership Team, I was responsible for all content, social, and communications strategy and creation. This included the creation of online magazine, featuring community news, industry news, and interview features, as well as creation of a content partnership with Yoga Journal.
MAMMOTH YOGA FESTIVAL
As a contract marketing director for the 2020 and 2021 events, I was responsible for all content, social, and communications strategy and creation. In 2020, this included producing virtual events in the lead-up to a (ultimately canceled) event.
Includes creation of online magazine, featuring interviews with all festival teachers and DJs.
ADDITIONAL CLIENT WORK
QUILT
As Editorial Director at this New York Times-featured tech start-up, I worked closely with the marketing team to highlight community members and increase both web traffic and app downloads. This included both written and video content. I created a Medium page for content development, known as the Quilt Thread, and oversaw a 20% growth in newsletter signups and social following. LIVEKICK
As a marketing consultant, I managed all social media and newsletter creation, including growth strategy, asset production, and a company-wide editorial calendar.
UNILEVER: THE RIGHT TO SHOWER
As a contract editorial director, I managed all social media and asset production with their London-based team. I also was instrumental in producing out-of-home advertising, including TRTS participation in the World’s Big Sleep Out. For this event, I directed production of six video billboards on Times Square.
RIPPLEFFECT IMPACT MARKETING
As a contract editorial director, I wrote content programs and created editorial calendars for RipplEffect clients, and also launched a B2B marketing blog for the organization.
PERSONAL BRAND DEVELOPMENT: DJ TAZ RASHID & JERAMIE VAINE
I was contracted by these well-known wellness leaders and teachers to optimize growth for their personal brands, and oversaw content development, created editorial calendars, and consulted regarding newsletter strategy and communications.
PERFORMANCE KITCHEN
At the end of 2020, I assisted in creating New Year marketing materials in conjunction with the Director of Campaign Marketing.
COMPARE CREDIT
I was contracted to create SEO-friendly blogs and credit card reviews for the launch of this new credit card analysis site.
ELIZABETH PUBLISHING
As Executive Editor of reference books for The New York Times, I was responsible for writing, updating, fact-checking and proofreading The New York Times Almanac (ed. 2008–2011), The New York Times Guide to Essential Knowledge (ed. 2007, 2011), and Smarter By Sunday (2008).
